Microsoft Excel is a program widely used by professionals and one that you can’t go wrong with learning to use. Plus, there’s no one better to teach you than Jennifer Stubblefield! In this course, Jennifer invites you into her (fictitious) Traveling Scholars Club, and your projects will mimic real-life scenarios and tasks that you could be asked to do as a professional using Excel – or taking the certification exam.

What you will learn

Module 1
The Traveling Scholar Club located on the University of Grahamville campus has expense data that needs to be edited before being submitted to the main office. In this module, you will make formatting changes to enhance the Expenses worksheet and calculate totals.

Module 2
The TTSC campus at Hildale Mountain has prepared its quarterly expenses, but the file requires several adjustments before it can be distributed to the accountant. You will make various changes to the Quarterly Expenses workbook, including working with multiple worksheets.

Module 3
TTSC has identified several cities that are especially popular with its members. In this module, you will create a worksheet with specific pricing details for these cities. You will enhance the TTSC City Comparisons worksheet using formatting and graphics designed to appeal to members.

Module 4
The Traveling Scholar Club offers multiple fundraising opportunities to help members offset travel and study costs. Fundraiser data has already been entered into Excel. In this module, you will enhance the TTSC Fundraiser worksheet by adding visual effects and mathematical functions to make the data more useful for both the Accounting Department and the Fundraising Chair.

Module 5
Each year, TTSC creates cost comparison data to help members make informed decisions about study abroad destinations. In this module, you will enhance the TTSC Study Abroad Expenses worksheet with formatting and graphics that make the data easier to understand.

Module 6
All TTSC campus offices must submit quarterly expense reports to the accountant. While the Hildale Mountain data has been prepared, it is missing several required elements. In this module, you will add graphics such as Sparklines and a column chart to visually represent annual expenses.

Module 7
TTSC has compiled research and statistics related to social media usage, performance results, and follower demographics. Some of this data is sensitive and should only be accessed by specific personnel. In this module, you will format the worksheets to provide meaningful insights while also keeping the data secure.

Module 8
TTSC offices maintain client data that must be accurate and consistent across all locations. Using existing client information, you will create functions and formulas to generate new passwords and ID codes, ensuring reliable and repeatable results.

Module 9
The TTSC Accounts Payable Department manages employee time cards and confidential employee information. Templates are used to save time, but additional setup is required. In this module, you will create and complete payroll-related documents for the Accounts Payable Office.

Module 10
TTSC’s cruise ship sailings are becoming increasingly popular, and data has been collected to support future planning decisions. In this module, you will edit and correct the Cruise Data worksheet and use formulas to calculate key information related to cruise ship performance.
