Gearing Up

alecpsOk gang… we’ve really got a great system in place this year. I’ve built a simple website that will serve as your portfolio and will eventually be your mid-term, your final, and your portfolio if you choose to go to an art school and need one for entry. The instructions can be found on the Comm Tech 1 page, and since this is new, I also need the CT2+ students to setup their portfolios also. I want everyone to watch all the videos in the “This is the way we roll” section and also follow the instructions to setup your portfolio. Once you’re done, go to your class page (Comm tech 1 or Comm tech 2) and start the first project. Comm tech 1 students- this is a trial by fire. I know a lot of you don’t have experience in Photoshop, but I want to see how well you can research and solve problems on your own. The next project will have tutorials that walk you through everything you need to know.

Comm Tech 2 students, I’d also like you to be working on the header images for this site. AlecPS sent me his image from home, so it was the only one I could upload. Nice, simple, vector-lovin’ goodness (I changed the size Alec- sorry- you can resubmit since the bottom is getting a little cut off now at 150px high). ColbyCN was actually numero uno when it comes to having a worthy entry for the header. Props to both of you guys for knocking it out with speed and talent. It’s a good way to get back into the groove.

I’m out Friday, but will be back Monday morning- I expect everyone to have their portfolio folder setup next class.
