Teachers

Welcome Teachers!!!

Let’s face it. None of us have the time to do half of what we want to do. We all appreciate good lessons, free resources, and a little inspiration or insight from other teachers. Well, this is my way of paying it forward.

Can You Use This Site In Your Own Classroom?

YES! Please do! All I ask is that you please leave a comment below and let me know how you found the site and/or what you find most useful. I’m a busy teacher and single dad, too! If I can tell what people are interested in, I can better focus my attention on getting the right kind of information and resources out there. It’s also just cool to know where you’re from and how the site is helping you. I only ask that you do not copy and download the files and redistribute them without asking. Let me see the traffic so I can again gauge what people are using and focus my attention in the right places.

What’s here for you?

Well, if you’re a Tech Ed or Business Ed teacher, there’s a bunch. First, Join the Diigo group.  The diigo group is a great way to share links, and all of us together can contribute. Why keep those amazing websites you’ve found all to yourself? Share those links with all of us! Go to the Students pages for lab policy ideas or lesson plans (also here). Check out Tech Ed Central for some of my philosophies and strategies (pilfered over many years from teachers better than me…), ideas about Professional Development, ideas about an equipment list for your lab, or ideas on promoting your program. Need links?? Check out and PLEASE JOIN THE DIIGO GROUP!!!  It’s a great way we can all share amazing resources we find online. Simply join Diigo, and then when you add your sites to the list, share it with the design.ed group! Lastly, you can just check out the blog and see what’s happening day to day in my lab.

Oh, Have I mentioned that I’d love more people to join in and contribute to the DIIGO GROUP????? :-) I believe this could be a great way to connect and support each other. Just make sure you tag your bookmarks wth good tags so we can find what we need.

    Hi Rob,

I am seriously considering putting up a web site for my students. The need now that becomes more and more evident is to forward email info that I get, to them, such as; events, college scholarships, lab/class related, etc. And of course I would like to link a lot to ‘brainbuffet.com’ if that’s OK. I created and tried to maintain a web site back in 2001 but the software and operation of it wasn’t time effective for me. I do have a life and this was robbing me of it, I thought back then. Anyway it seems now is the time to try it again. Any advice? and what software should I use?

    Thank’s Rob, Forever young, Cliff

    • Yeah- First bit of advice- USE WORDPRESS. It’s easy, quick, free, and has tons of support. can login and update anywhere. Most hosts will install it for free. If you need hosting, contact me directly and I can hook you up with some hosts I can recommend. You won’t need any other software to edit the site (well, maybe FTP software if you want to add some extra features or themes).

I was in your workshop yesterday at the Tech Conference, and I’ve been on this website almost every waking moment since I got home. It is now 6 AM!

I’ve learned more about Photo Shop in this time, than in the entire time that I’ve had the program.

I can’t thank you enough. I imagine that you are an absolutely amazing teacher.

Your presentation on photoshop was great! You gave enough info to guide us, while giving an example of what we’ll be able to do! The way you explained transparencies and masks made it all make sense. thanks

  • Mr. Schwartz,
I aplaude you for you excellent work on these tutorials. Our Communications Technology class at Fort Lauderdale use your videos everyday to excel in our every project. Your ACA tutorials is the sole reason I was able to pass the exam. You are like a second teacher for our class.
Thanks for your helping Mr. Carlton (‘cus we know he needs it), and we’re looking foward to your Dreamweaver and Flash tutorials.

I received this website recommendation from a teacher that was in a workshop with you at a conference. This will be a life saver for me! Our district recently asked all Introduction to IT teachers to become certified in Photoshop. Since, I am brand new to Adobe products, I felt overwhelmed. After working through the student tutorials, I was able to learn concepts and techniques in a relatively short period of time. I’m using this website to finish out this year with my classes. Thank you, very much, for all of the time and effort you put into this. It is appreciated!

Wow! Thank you for the incredible amount of work you have put into these videos/tutorials. I can’t wait to get my students started on them.

    Hey Bro!

I just signed up for Diigo and look forward to the Dw training at month’s end. We have 40+ students that have passed the ACA in March in large part to your outstanding ACA prep tutorials.

Keep up the great work…thanks for teaching my students!

My teacher uses your website to teach photoshop and thanks to you I just passed the photoshop ACA exam. Have you ever thought about posting some flash or dreamweaver tutorials? :)

    Many thanks, MK

I just used your ‘Logo’ project as a stand-alone assignment. It worked great. I am taking the ACA Photoshop test next week. Is the CS4 test still the same as it was on the certipoint review site during the Spring?
    Thanks
    Hubert

I want to thank you, again, for sharing this resource with us. I passed my ACA certification exam today with flying colors! These tutorials were instrumental in my preparation. My students are testing over the course of the next two weeks. I feel confident that students who followed along with the video tutorials will do very well.

Enjoy the ending of the school year!
