I have been in a couple of your classes and was perusing brain buffet website. None of your videos will play on my computer. Either they don't play at all or I don't have sound. Do you know why?

Well, it's always hard to troubleshoot a system when you can't get your hands on it... but my first guess is to update Flash player as well as Apple Quick Time.
I'm in the process of developing more video tutorials as well, and was curious as to what you're using for your screen captures? Are you using Captivate? We don't have a license for that (just Design Premium CS4). I'm currently using Camstudio, but trying to find better full screen alternatives.

Hey Matt! I use Camtasia from Tech Smith, and an Audio-Technica USB2020 mic. Love both. I use camtasia for smaller tutorials, but for my workflow, Camtasia is the better option. Captivate is amazing though, and has several distinct advantages if you want to make it more interactive and create quizzes and such.
where can i some damaged images to practice what i learn?

Best place is google. I am collecting some also, will share 'em out when I get them scanned and uploaded. Look for "distressed photo" or "damaged photo"
Who are you???

Nobody of any real consequence. More about me in the "about" section of the site, but it's pretty boring, actually :-)
Who do you use for Hosting? Do you have any recommendations for people that want to get started on their own site?

Hey! You can support Brainbuffet.com AND get the best deals on hosting out there by just clicking on the links below and signing up for hosting. Doesn't cost you any more and helps us pay the bandwidth costs! Thanks for supporting Brainbuffet! The hosts I recommend are bluehost, site5, and lunarpages. I have affiliate accounts with all three and if you use the links below, Brainbuffet may earn free months of hosting or a referral fee. These aren't the only options out there, but these are my top 3 recommendations based on experience. There's NOTHING worse than a bad/unreliable web host when your class or business depend on it!
BLUEHOST.COM - $6.95 a month- unlimited space/bandwidth, Free domain. Unlimited domains in the account (you can have more websites on the same account)
Lunarpages - get basic, not starter plan there. Only $4.95 a month, free domain included. Unlimited space and bandwidth.
Site 5 - That's who I'm with. I'm happy, but they're $7.95 for the same as bluehost, and you have to pay 3 years to get that price! Bluehost is better now. They didn't have unlimited domains before, which is why I went site5- but I'm very happy with the service so I'm not going anywhere! Seems that Site5 might have better load times, but Bluehost has more server processes. If you don't know what that means, then don't worry about it!
All three of these hosts provide a quick and easy install of Wordpress, which I use and strongly recommend for hosting a classroom site (or just about any site!)
